Safety Reimbursement Program

Safety is a critical component of outdoor business operations. To alleviate the financial burden on business owners impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency, the City of Camarillo will reimburse expenses associated with the acquisition and installation of water-filled barricades for use in public and private areas, up to $2,500. For details about eligibility, and to apply for reimbursement, please read on.

Implementation
The business must take the following steps to receive reimbursement:

  • Apply for a Temporary Outdoor Business Area - COVID-19 No Fee Zone Clearance and receive approval from the Community Development Department.
  • Purchase or rent water-filled barricades, or equivalent barricades as determined by the Public Works Department. If you have any questions regarding eligible barricades, feel free to call our Public Works Department at (805) 383-5650.
  • Properly install and fill the barricades to protect against vehicles, per approved plan by City traffic division, as part of approved Zone Clearance.
  • Submit COVID-19 Business Assistance 2020/21 Disbursement Request form, and proof of purchase in the form of receipt, invoice, and other documentation supporting the amount requested and disbursement request form to the Finance Department. Email disbursement request form and supporting documents to [email protected]
  • Receive inspection of installation and approval from City staff.
  • Business will receive a reimbursement check by mail at the earliest convenience of the Finance Department.

Reimbursement Qualifications
In order for a business to qualify for the reimbursement of water-filled barricades, or a different type that provides equivalent protections and that has been approved by Public Works, the business must meet the following criteria:

  • The outdoor business area must be approved by the Community Development Department and the Public Works Department through the issuance of a Zone Clearance for Temporary Outdoor Business Activity.
  • The temporary outdoor business area must operate in compliance with the terms listed in any adopted applicable City resolution.
  • A request for reimbursement must be received by the Finance Department no later than thirty (30) calendar days after the City Council has declared the end of the public health emergency. If the end of the public health emergency has not been declared by May 1, 2021, a request for reimbursement must be submitted by May 31, 2021.

LIST OF BARRICADE COMPANIES

NOTICE
This list of barricade companies includes the names of companies that the City of Camarillo has prepared and additional names will be added to the list if other barricades companies contact the City and request to be added to the list. For other barricade companies wishing to be added to the list, please contact Georg Winkler at [email protected]

The City does not endorse any of these companies or guarantee the quality of their products or services and this list is only provided so businesses have the contact information for these barricade companies.

Businesses in need of barricades should do their own independent evaluation of the barricade companies when making a decision on which company to select to provide them with a barricade.
